UGC-Recognized Journals means what?

Your work may be published in UGC-Recognized Journals. Your paper will only be considered by the University Grant Commission if it is published in one of the UGC-approved journals.

Please take note that any private journals not included in the 2021 List will be disregarded.

The UGC CARE list has taken the place of the UGC Approved Journals list in the most recent revision. You should be aware of the UGC Journal List 2021 if you want to submit an article to that publication.

The CARE List was created for the reasons listed below.

For the sake of advancing scholarly excellence, honesty, and publishing.

To avoid having work published in predatory or otherwise low-quality journals.

In order to keep up with the quality journals on the Reference UGC CARE List.

The goal of this work is to provide a procedure and strategy for recognizing high-quality journals.

UGC-CARE List Justifications

The following are some of the main justifications for creating UGC-CARE:

In all of India's educational institutions, we must insist on the highest standards of research, academic honesty, and publishing decency.

To encourage high-quality articles to be published in reputable journals so as to rise in international rankings.

To prevent negative articles from appearing in predatory or low-quality journals that might damage India's academic reputation.

To keep up with the UGC-CARE List of High-Quality Academic Journals.
