Program Overview



The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electronics & Communication Engineering at DIT University is a research‑intensive programme designed to cultivate scholars capable of driving innovation in emerging communication technologies, signal processing, VLSI design, and related domains.









Eligibility Criteria





  • Master’s degree (M.E., M.Tech., M.Sc.) in Electronics, Communication, Electrical, Computer Science or a related discipline with a minimum of 55% aggregate (or equivalent CGPA of 6.0/10).


  • Qualifying score in a recognized national level entrance test (GATE, UGC‑NET, CSIR‑NET, or DIT University Ph.D. Entrance).


  • For candidates with only a B.E./B.Tech (10+2+4 system), a minimum of 65% aggregate is required and must qualify for the Ph.D. Entrance Exam.


  • Research proposal approval by the Departmental Research Committee.










Entrance Examination



Applicants must appear for one of the following recognized examinations:





  • GATE (Electronics & Communication Engineering)


  • UGC‑NET (EE, EE* – Electronics & Communication)


  • CSIR‑NET (EE)


  • DIT University Ph.D. Entrance Test (conducted annually)




The qualifying score is:





  • GATE – Minimum 550 (General) / 500 (SC/ST/PwD)


  • UGC‑NET – Minimum 55 percentile (General) / 50 percentile (SC/ST/PwD)


  • CSIR‑NET – Minimum 55 percentile (General) / 50 percentile (SC/ST/PwD)


  • DIT University Test – Minimum 60% marks.

Admission Process
