Eligibility





  • Master’s degree (M.Tech/M.E/M.Sc) in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline with a minimum of 55% aggregate (or CGPA 6.0/10). For SC/ST/PwD candidates, 50% is acceptable.


  • Valid GATE score (Mechanical Engineering – 2024) is preferred but not mandatory.


  • Candidates with a B.E/B.Tech (8‑semester) or B.Sc (4‑year) plus two years of relevant research/industry experience may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis.


  • Age limit: No upper age restriction for Ph.D. programmes.










Entrance Examination



DIT University Ph.D. Entrance Test (DET)



The DET is a written test followed by a personal interview (VIVA). The test evaluates fundamental concepts, analytical ability, and research aptitude.

Admission Process
