The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Geography at Dibrugarh University is a research‑oriented programme aimed at producing scholars capable of contributing to academic, governmental and industry domains through advanced geographical research.









Eligibility Criteria

Entrance Examination





  • University‑conducted Ph.D. Entrance Test (Written & Interview).


  • Duration: 2 hours (written), followed by a panel interview.


  • Selection based on combined score of written test (70%) and interview (30%).


  • Candidates holding valid GATE/UGC‑NET scores may be exempted from the written test.

Annual fees are payable at the beginning of each academic year. A refundable security deposit of ₹2,000 is required.

  3. Pay application fee (₹1,500 for General, ₹1,200 for reserved categories).
